UK Hip Hop - Smiler feat. Sneakbo (Rocksteady_All Star Remix)

Somebody I have heard of before.  He did a version of the Nas & Damain Marley (Distant Relatives) track 'As We Enter' with Stylah, a couple of years back.  He is, I would say, one of those more UK Hip Hop than Grime sort of artists, and he's been about for a few years now.  Apparently doing quite well at the moment judging by my sources, and it is believed by many from what I'm hearing that this guy is going to be the next, Professor Green/ Wretch 32/ Chipmunk, type of artist to blow up on the UK Scene.  Time will tell I suspect, but the truth is supposedly right here.  His New Mixtape:  ALL I KNOW.  Check it Out (D/L) Below.

But before you do - let's not forget what I started writing this post about in the first place.  It was to showcase the remix of Smiler's new track 'Rocksteady'.  An all star Posse Cut with featured guests; Sneakbo, Bigz, S.A.S, Tyler Daley, Random Impulse, Fem Fel & Don Strapzy.  Sounds big I would have to agree so without further ado - Check it out, a whole 8 minutes of rawness in one music video.  Check it out Below.

The next best thing to come out the UK Hip Hop Scene?  Will have to wait & see, but in the meantime be sure to check out the above mixtape 'All I Know', and be on the look out for the Professor Green assisted single 'Top of the World'.  Coming later this year.

New US/ UK Hip Hop Collabo - Copywrite - God Save The King (Proper English Version).

Right so you might have read my last post about the new single by Foreign beggars called 'Flying To Mars'.  In it I basically said that I was disappointed with myself for not writing more posts about UK Hip Hop.  So I mean I wrote that and the reason I did was because I stumbled across it after looking for release information on another project.  A project that although by a US emcee (Copywrite) I still felt it to be of a very major importance to UK Hip Hop, and the reason being the release of his new remix album, 'God Save the King (The Proper English Version)'.  A re-release of his latest album, but instead with different features, and those being of some of the biggest names in UK Hip Hop.   People like - Bigz, S.A.S, Akala, Mela9, Iron Braidz, Genesis Elijah, and Mystro (as well as others).  I mean I'm quite surprised I've only just heard about it, and shocked actually because I would have written about it already, but no point moaning about it - instead I will post the details - Artwork, Tracklist, Videos, Album Review & Amazon Link.

New UK Hip Hop - Foreign Beggars feat. Donae'o - Flying to Mars.

O.K So a big problem I've had with this Blog, since I started it almost 3 months ago now, is that  i haven't really kept it true as I think I should have, to my native UK Hip Hop.  Something I have thought about a lot, and something which hasn't been completly absent from this blog, but something I haven't posted about nearly enough.  So I mean - No time like the present, & what better way to get the ball rolling than brand new Foreign Beggars:
This one is called 'Flying To Mars', featuring Donae'o, and can be checked out in the video below, and before I forget this by the way is the first single from their new album 'The Uprising' out sometime in August.

Jarren Benton - Freebasing with Kevin Bacon.

I know off-key right, the cover art, and the album title. I mean WTF - I'd like to know what the idea behind this title is.  I've googled it, and nowhere can i find any articles about Kevin Bacon smoking crack.  So any one who's reading this, if you could enlighten me, about what the idea is behind this title, or your theory at least Please Comment.   I would like to know because this is crazy, but apparently, and the reason why i'm posting this Is that this guy (Jarren Benton) is apparently like Kevin Bacon's new favourite drug 'dope'.

He if you don't know is the latest member of 'FUNK VOLUME MUSIC', which if you don't know about is 'emmerging talent' Hopsin's record label.  Also consisting of DJ Hoppa, SwizZz, & Dizzy Wright (as far as I know).  Anyway though checkout his mixtape featuring the likes of 2 Chainz, Freeway, Jon Connor, & Gangsta Boo (amongst others).  Check it out Below.

Neww! Slaughterhouse - Throw it Away feat. Swizz Beatz.

A week after Crooked I dropped his new mixtape, and it's no surprise really that the Abattoir that is Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 59", & the already mentioned Crooked Intriago, is back on the promotion bandwagon.  Something which began I believe with the video for the Cee-Lo assisted 'My Life'.  Which if you haven't seen:

It continued with the announcement of an August 28th 2012 release date, and the unvieling of this, 'The Welcome: To Our house' Cover Artwork:

And skip forward to now, The release of their 2nd official single 'Throw it Away' feat. Swizz Beatz,

following of course 'My Life' & the street single 'Hammer Dance'.  Check it out/ D/L below.

Strong Arm Steady & Statik Selektah - Stereotype (Tracklist + Cover Art).

A group I remember hearing about when they first formed, in 2003 i think it was.  They was on Westwoods Saturday Night radio show on Radio 1, and they was with Xzibit.   The original 4th, or something, member I believe, but I think he left because he thought they'd be better off with out him.  Which fair enough because they're still about, and doing okay on their own, and after several releases later they're now gearing up for the follow up of 2011's 'Arms & Hammers', their 4th studio album 'Stereotype'.  A collaborative piece entirely produced by DJ Statik Selektah.

Check out the Tracklist Here.
1. Truth of The Truth
2. Premium
3. Forever, feat. Chace Infinite
4. Born Into It, feat. Bad Lucc
5. Do Ya Thang Girl (JOOK), feat. Casey Veggies and Picaso
6. On My Job, feat. Skeme

Crooked I - Power Circle Freestyle

People who regularly come to this site might have noticed, but if they haven't, or you're someone who is new to visiting www.chivs86.blogspot.com, or whatever.  You might have noticed that I post quite a lot about S.H  rapper Crooked I.  All with in good reason I say, because this guy is a workaholic, and even better he's always leaking new music.  I mean he released like a new mixtape just last week, and the day before he put out a completely unrelated freestyle over Pusha T's - 'Exodus 23:1'.  Talk about keeping the fans happy, and I mean it doesn't stop there because just today (23-06-12) he's put out another new freestyle.  This time over MMG & Kendrick Lamar's new track 'Power Circle'.  Check it out here.

Nas - Life Is Good (Tracklist + Artwork)

One of the most, visibly, anticipated albums of mine at the moment definately, and I mean I actually think I am going to have to buy this.  Not really because I like the leaks e.g The Don, Daughters, & Accident Murderers (haven't heard them), but just because I like Nas.  I didn't really like too much of the 2CD album Streets Disciple, but i mean everything else has always been dope.  So I mean you can imagine that with the news that Nasir is dropping his new album 'Life Is Good'' on the 17th of next month (July) i am quite excited, but adding fuel to the fire - as a sign of things to come - Check out the Artwork & Tracklist Below.

Dom Kenneady - The Yellow Album (Stream + Download)

Still yet to check out much of D.K's stuff, but admittingly, and the reason why i'm sharing the link to his latest release - The Yellow Album - I am wrting this post because i'm fascinated.  Intrigued to hear about a rapper whose name I keep seeing pop up all over the web.  A rapper who I am hearing a lot of good things about, but at the same time somebody who has a certain mystique about him.  A man who isn't popping up on all these commercial features, but somehow to an extent still keeping it underground.  From a class of rappers like Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy, Childish Gambino & Danny Brown - all names that have emmerged over the past couple of years or so, but you got to feel that there's something quite different about this Dom Kennedy character.  Check out a few of his tracks below courtesy of YOUTUBE, but check further down for a Stream/ Download for his latest release - 'The Yellow Album'.

MMG - Self Made Vol 2 (Album Stream)

Posted a review earlier on, which you can read by going to this link, but since then there has also been an online album stream released.  So for regular readers of this blog i mean - if you have read it - it's not exactly good promotion for those lot over at MMG, but if you would like to build your own opinion check out the stream.  Right here.

Not my cup of tea i said that in my review, but i didn't write this for myself - I write it for my readers, and I mean - I know some of my readers might actually like Rick Ross, so as a bonus I shall also post the newest Rick Ross feature off Nas's 'Life is Good'' dropping July 17th.  It's called 'Accident Murderers' and you can check it out below.

DJ Drama & Jadakiss - Consignment Mixtape [NO DJ] (Stream & D/L)

Something I should of posted when it came out two months ago, but no time like the present as they say.  It's a bit later then when I normally post things late, i admit, but actually you could argue that this Mixtape is new, because the big difference is that there is {No Tags/ DJ}.  So something I imagine some people might have been waiting for, or like myself - its release was a complete surprise, but whatever way you look at it, Jadakiss is right up there.  So if you didn't check this mixtape out a couple months back - you do that & if you did - what better time to check it out again than W/O the DJ talking all over the tracks.  Check it out Below.

Crooked I - Psalm 82:V6 (Stream + Download).

After about what, 2, 3 even 4 months or something of waiting. It's finally here Crooked I's new mixtape. And i'm a bit late posting it actually - I wanted to post it as soon as it dropped, but on the same day isn't bad. But it's here I going to write & write bullshit here it is because I know you like myself are most likely desperate to hear this. Check it out below.

Or if you'd prefer it in all it's DJ Free glory - get your copy via Itunes.

& if this wasn't enough - to tie us over, to the Slaughterhouse Album, as great as it is, it now appears that (although only a rumour at present) we might be hearing more of Crooked I on a Slaughterhouse & DJ Drama Mixtape.  It has yet to be confirmed yet, but would DJ Drama turn down the opportunity to do a DJ Drama & Slaughterhouse Gangsta Grillz?  I Think not.
Stay tuned to Chivs86.Blogspot.com for developments as they arise.

Crooked I - Exodus 23:1 Freestyle

Only one day to go now, at the time of writing this (18-06-2012), and I can just imagine how impatient some people are getting at the moment.  Impatient because like myself the lyrical genius that is Crooked I is releasing his new mixtape tomorrow Psalm 82.v6.  One of the most anticipated mixtapes of this year so far perhaps, well certainly from where i'm standing, and out tomorrow as i already mentioned.  Should be excellent i'm thinking because what a good rapper Crooked I is, and actually what a good human being Crooked I is because not only is he releasing a free mixtape tomorrow, but today he's even put out a little freestyle to tie us over.
It's over Pusha T's Exodus 23:1.  Check it out below.

Oh & on the topic fellow Slaughterhouse member Joell Ortiz only last week also ripped the same beat. Check that out here as well.

Who the f**k is Cheif Keef?

A name cropping up a lot lately, and I keep on hearing it, 'Chief Keef', but who is this dude? A dude who it has just today/yesterday (17/06/12) been confirmed as the latest act to sign with Interscope records.  A man who quite, quite recently was a part of a three label tug of war, with Atlantic, CTE, & Cash Money all keen to sign him.  I thought he might have been signed to Good Music, but as i have just learned is that he (Chief Keef) made this song (I don't like) & because Kanye West liked it so much he decided to turn it into a Good Music posse cut alongside Pusha T, Big Sean & Jadakiss.

Indeed, impressive, but the question still arises, maybe one of the biggest at the moment, to all hip hop fans,
Who is Chief Keef?
-
Well, according to my research his name is John Forge, he's from Chicago, and at this time of writing (17/6/12) is 17, and about him? Biographic info on this Chief Keef character at current is scarce, but I will write what I know to help answer one of googles current most asked questions -
Who the f**k is Chief Keef?

I will start with the first thing i found out about him, last year he was according to this article, "Hip Hop's Next Big Thing on House Arrest at His Grandmothers House", on House Arrest at his Grandmothers House.  Which I won't go into too much & f**k it if you really want to know about Chief Keef click on the highlighted link above,  but if you can't be bothered, or you are just a fan of my writing I will continue.  To tell you all i know about Chief Keith Keef.

Okay so according to this article Keef made a song called 'Bang' which got at the time, something, like 400 K views on YOUTUBE.  He had a mixtape & a growing following across Chicago.  His rise to fame came though when a video was released on website www.WorldStarHipHop.com in January of a little kid rapping a long to the track 'Aimed at You'.  Comments quickly followed like the one above, Who The F**k is Chief Keef?

So not the first time this questions been asked, but alike the first time - a lot of people are again checking Keef out on Youtube.  Just like rappers Lil B & Soulja Boy who after hearing of Keith Keef recorded remixes of his tracks 'Bang' & '3 Hunna',   Just like Kanye West who surprisingly didn't try to sign Keef, alike Soulja Boy, after remixing 'I don't like' but that is now and this is then which i'm on about.  When Keef started recording with Japanese Producer DJ Kenn, & rhyme partner Fredo Santana.  Also when Keef was donned the name Keef, possibly by believe it or not his uncle Keith, and Keef was handing out his mixtapes, to any tom, dick or harry at any School, El Station, bus stop or party.  Assumingly something that only made the young rapper bigger & bigger.  So big that today he is signed to Interscope & has a publishing deal with Dr Dre, but then I don't think i can say anymore - Chief Keef has been working his ass off ever since.  So who is Chief Keef? check him out in the posted Youtube videos below & his latest mixtape ' Back from the Dead'.

1st Up - 'I Don't Like Remix' feat. Kanye West, Jadakiss, Pusha T, & Big Sean.

& 2nd this one is called '3 Hunna'.

& Finally the massive Youtube Hit 'Bang".

& Not forgetting before, which i forgot to mention earlier, he releases his next mixtape 'Finally Rich' w/ DJ Drama - Here's his latest release for Stream & Download ' Back from the Dead'.

Tito Lopez - The Hunger Game (Stream + Download)

Watch this space - Tito Lopez has already worked & been co-signed by legendary rapper/ producer Dr Dre & has earned himself a place as an extended member of the dungeon family. He has been building a rep for a few years now, and is currently gearing up for the release of his debut album. Coming this year i believe, on capitol records. Should be good, and not to mention his material with Dre, but in the meantime here's his new mixtape available to stream & download (check it out below).

XV Popular Culture Mixtape (Stream + Download)

I first heard of XV maybe a year ago.  I downloaded his track 'Smallville' prod. by J.Cole because i liked the name of the song.  It laid reference to one of my favourite TV shows for a start, and I thought - i'll download it, stick it on my MP3 player or whatever, and from there...  at random one day the song just come on whilst i was walking down the road, i heard it, and i thought "this song is brilliant, what is it?".  So from there i got the beat to make my own version of it, I got the track it sampled 'To Forgive' by the Smashing Pumpkins, and I downloaded the Mixtape 'Zero Heroes'.  Which I actually quite liked, and since then the Kansas rapper, despite releasing a constant wave of new material, i've been checking on frequently.  Somebody who i've enjoyed listening to, even though he hasn't released a follow up body of work till now (which by the way is the reason for this post).  One of the great rappers of 2011 & also it's looking like 2012 - check out his new mixtape here.  It's called Popular Culture & can be listened to & downloaded below.

Chivs86 Poetry - Roosevelt

Introduction -

For this edition of Chivs86 Poetry, i am again writing on the trending topic of Zombie Apocalypse, a spate of mindlessly violent attacks that have been occuring worldwide.  Attacks that although happen every now & again all across the planet, a place that you have to admit must have it's fairshare of lunatics, because of the mass of it in the medias eye people are now caling it the coming of the end.  Armagaedeon, 2012, end of the mayan calender blah blah blah.  Anway, one of the latest of these incidents hit the news last week - it involved a Florida man by the name of Roosevelt Mondesir who in a fit of rage doused his baby mother & ex girlfriend with Petrol (or Gasoline to you lot from the U.S) & set her on fire,  before trying to stab her to death.  He was fortunately caught in the act & arrested, and his girlfriend still lives to tell the gruesome tale.  Check out the below video for the footage & scroll further down to read the main topic of this post Chivs86 Poetry - Roosevelt.

Smoke Dza - Rugby Thompson Album Stream

Almost a week after the album leaked (might have been longer), & action was taken to try delete as many hosted files as possible, Smoke Dza releases a free stream for his new album 'Rugby Thompson'.  Out Monday Dza's new album follows a growing trend of rappers like Big KRIT & Curren$y for opting in to this new method of letting the cat out the bag.  Possibly the future of Hip Hip, but i won't babble on - i'll save that for the album review.  Which if you would like to write yourself (Maybe E-mail it to me at

Chevy Woods - Gangland Tracklist & D/L

Haven't heard this guy yet myself, but from what i do know is that he's part of Wiz Khalifa (someone i do know)'s group Taylor Gang.  Now the reason I am posting it, is because it's a free mixtape, I don't know if it's good or bad yet, I am just posting it because it's free, and in the hope it brings traffic to my site.

I may though however do a review of it - i'll see how my free time pans out, but in the mean time here's the tracklist & download.

LCN - Master of the Dark Arts (Tracklist & Production Credits).

One of this years most anticipated albums perhaps ? Indeed, A breath of fresh air since Nasty Nas declared Hip Hop was Dead all those years ago.  Ill Bill has, and continues to be one of those rappers that has so far failed to disappoint.  So when in 2005 he announced that he had formed a super-group with Danny Boy, Everlast & DJ Lethal (House of Pain), along with Slaine & Big Left, it had a lot of hip hop heads buzzing, and even more in 2008 when the group dropped their debut album "A Brand You Can Trust".
An effort that lived up to it's name, and further more boosted itself with guest appearances from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Bun B & Immortal Technique, it was an album that lived up to it's name.  Failed to disappoint.  So when it was announced late last year that the group would be releasing a follow up this year (2012) it did a little bit more than add fuel to the fire.
Although now a man down in Everlast (due to family commitments), it was the news, in which it was also stated that fans could expect a new Ill Bill solo album, that fans had been waiting for.   Which now just over six months into the future has materialized into the album (Master of The Dark Arts) completion & release date on July 26th.

Snowgoons - Snowgoons Dynasty Tracklist

On a busy day with stuff to write about coming in thick and fast, the phrase "No rest for the wicked" pops to mind.  I mean i know i don't have to write about everything, but it is my job to try and drive traffic to my blog, which i wouldn't mind so much if i got paid but....

I think i'm gonna have to stop there this post isn't about www.chivs86.blogspot.com in general it's about the upcoming album by Germanys Most Famous Hip Hop producers The Snowgoons, who on July 17th (this year) will be releasing a new double disc album.  A whole 32 tracks of Dope S**T.

Eminem - Art Of Rap - Freestyle.

One of the most elusive mainstream rappers of our own day and age, Eminem seems to be right up there with the likes of people like LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, and the man responsible for this post (Ice T) for not releasing much music anymore.  But IF anything - you'd think it might put us off, but it doesn't, as soon as any news breaks that Eminem will be releasing something new, people over react.  They start frantically typing his name in google, and writing about him on their hip hop forums, and whatever else.
I mean is it such big news ? really, it makes you think doesn't it ?  Is Eminem that great ?

My Opinion is - He is.  So i was quite excited to hear about his appearance in Ice T's new DVD 'Something from Nothing:The Art of Rap" It's only a freestyle, but from someone who never releases anything anymore it's at least something.  Quite good apparently, i haven't checked it out yet myself, but i'm hearing that it's a pretty dope freestyle.  So without babbling on too much, Here It IS, Courtesy of 2dopeboyz.com.

And in other Eminem news...

It seems that we might have a little longer to wait for Eminem's labelmates Slaughterhouse to release there new album.  Which was if you don't know scheduled to drop, after another pushback, next week on the 12th.  It's now according to sources supposed to be dropping in July, but without any new date confirmed it's seeming like us Eminem fans (Stans) might have a little wait longer to hear any new bars.  So as it seems this it for a while - so let's enjoy it, and on the topic Ice T's new movie 'Something from nothing: The Art of Rap"  is out on the 15th.

Prodigy - H.N.I.C 3 Tracklist.

OK So - been a bit lazy on here lately, and i certainly haven't been posting much, but I can only leave it so long before people stop coming to the site so, I felt now would be a good time to step it up, and what better way to do this than bringing you the latest on Mobb Deep's Prodigy.

Now his new album, the 3rd part of his H.N.I.C series will be released on the the 3rd of July, and he has just revealed, (which you can check below) the tracklist, with features from people like T.I, Wiz Khalifa, and partner in rhyme  Havoc, with production duties handled by amongst others - Alchemist, Sid Roams, and Beat Butcha.  Looks like it's gonna be banger, but only one track from the combo of Mobb Deep ?  Should tie us over for a little while i suppose.

1. Without Rhyme or Reason
2. Slept On
3. Pretty Thug
4. My Angel feat. Willie Taylor of Day 26
5. Co-Pilot feat. Wiz Khalifa
6. Live
7. Make It Hot feat. Young L
8. Get Money feat. Boogz & Young L
9. Life Is What You Make It
10. Award Show Life
11. Who You Bullsh*ttin feat. Havoc
12. Skull & Bones
13. Smack That B*tch feat. Esther Valentino
14. Let Me Show You feat. Vaughn
15. Gangsta Love feat. Esther Valentino
16. What’s Happening feat T.I.

And in other Prodigy news...  The rapper turnt author looks set to follow up with his previous book Infamous Life with a sequel which he describes as a kind of diary of his time in prison.  A work in progress at the moment, but for all fans of Prodigys writing as well as his rapping, it's something else to look forward to isn't it.  Well till we get the New Mobb Deep album that is.

Chivs86 Poetry - Zombie Apocalypse.

8 days after the horrific incident in Miami, USA, involving the crazed, naked man, shot to death by police for a savage Zombie like attack on a random homeless guy, I bring you a chivs86.blogspot, chivs86 poetry exclusive.  A poem about one of the most gruesome things to happen in recent years, and the awakening of the so called living dead, chivs86.blogspot presents...

Chivs86 Poetry -
Zombie Apocalypse.

The most sickest day in history,

it was apparently, this year
on the 26th May.
In Miami U.S of A,
An example,
of hardcore, goings on.
A so called zombie attack -
A naked man
At random,
eating the face off a tramp.

Cops shooting at him,
but he's gone mad,
for a good half an hour
before he's actually dead.

He smoked Bath Salts they said,
a new drug that messes -
with the part of the head
that you use -
when your faced with -
Life and Death
situations -
That having a fight effect.
Violent side effects,
apparently why at the time of death
they're saying it's somehow
an epidemic,
a phenomenon,
something strange is going on

How Normal people have got like this
in a state of a Zombie Apocalypse.
