The UK's own Lowkey announces retirement from music.

One of the most successful true hip hop mcs from my side of the pond in recent years, London rapper Lowkey today officially announced his retirement from music through his facebook page.  Stating his desire to concentrate on his studies as his main reason, and being fed up with the politics of the music industry.  He did however state that in the future he may consider a come back.

It's been a minute since Lowkeys 'Key to the Game' series and since joining 'Poisonous Poets' in 2005 and most recently dropping the album 'Soundtrack to the Struggle', the rapper has been a busy man since his emmergence in the early noughties.  He will be missed of course, but it's pretty safe to say that for the impecible lyricist that this break has been well earnt.

If you haven't got 'Soundtrack to the Struggle' yet download it here @itunes.com

And as a bonus here are a couple of Lowkey's hottest joints in recent years.

Here's his 'Fire in the Booth' 1xtra freestyle' from 2010.
